Highly recommend this spot! Food is fresh and authentic as they can be. Staff/employees mostly speak Spanish so be patient and articulate your order well to avoid mistakes in your order and to support them. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time given the crowd. There are lots of parking spots in the plaza where this joint is located as well as other food options. Prices are reasonable for the service, ambiance, quality, and portions. This is a 10/10 must try in the area. I also recommend to STOP eating at Tex-Mex Gentrified Mexican Food restaurants like Moe's, Chipotle, or El Pollo Loco.

The place is your typical Mexican Restaurant but everything I tried is delicious. I go back at least once per week. I'm a foodie so I don't say that a lot.

El Indio is soooo good--it's easily worth the 25-minute drive every time! They serve up authentic Mexican food that hits all the right notes, with flavors that feel homemade and packed with love. Their birria tacos are absolutely to die for--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and paired with that rich, flavorful consommé that takes them to the next level. The dining room is cozy and a great spot to sit and enjoy your meal if you're not taking it to-go. The staff is friendly, and the cashiers are bilingual, making the experience smooth whether you speak English or Spanish. El Indio is a must-visit for anyone craving real, authentic Mexican food. It's a place I'd happily go out of my way for--and you should too!

I order the QuesaBirria whenever I come here and it's was absolutely amazing. I've never experienced a huge crowd and the wait time is not long. The food is cooked to order, so it's usually hot and fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is normally calm. I can enjoy one of my favorite comfort meals inside.

The food here is amazing!! It's delicious, authentic, and the price is great. This was my first time trying birria tacos and they were so flavorful!! I had the shrimp and steak fajitas - the steak was super tender and the shrimp were delicious with a little spicy kick to them. I would definitely eat here again!

I got a burrito el plato with lengua and it was delicious. The meat was tender, the flavors were on point, the portion size was huge, and I was very satisfied with my meal. I called a pretty big order ahead of time, and they were able to accommodate my order needs over the phone. They took my card over the phone, which is understandable for such a large order. But to my pleasant surprise, the order was ready in about the 10 minutes it took for me to drive there, and everything was accurate. My kids enjoyed the quesadillas, too - the kids meals are a good deal!

~ First review of 2024 ~ El Indio is my favorite Mexican food chain in the Atlanta area even into 2024. Consistently delicious food, accuracy, and great value/portions. I've ordered from this location several times and only had one bad experience where the consommé with the birria tacos was just oily and no flavor. That same day the pork in the pozole was also a little undercooked and on the tough side. Every other time has been a great meal though, so this does not affect my rating. I'm sure they just had a busy day. If you have not tried birria or birriaquesa tacos yet, you're missing out! I highly recommend any of the El Indio locations. They are all great. I cannot really speak to the ambiance for this location, as I just get take out or delivery most times. However you plan to order, I'm sure there is something on the menu for you to enjoy.

Came here with some friends and decided to try it out! The place looked pretty normal, a little outdated which meant that it will be good. The lady took our order and we waited about 10 mins to receive our food. (It was half full) Once I dug in the tacos were amazing, they get soggy for a while and are very greasy (car oil tacos lol!) They were great and the passion fruit water was bomb. Will be back! But next time I'll bring the TUMS!
